Unrealistic expectations
We have all grown up in a time were social media practically always existed. While social media has become a positive & influential platform for many, it also has many detriments. We are surrounded by unrealistic models, Instagram pics, "all natural" faces & bodies, etc., and it is nearly impossible not to compare yourself to these seemingly "perfect" strangers. Social media, model magazines, etc. usually have some sort of filter/photo shop on them. So comparing your body to theirs isn’t really fair...because their social media body may not even be a reflection of their natural body. Also, the way you pose and stand make a HUGE difference. When you’re posting something on social media or modeling for VOGUE, you aren’t going to put out the pictures that don’t make you look “perfect.” And guess what- you look beautiful with or without posing/a filter.

It’s genetics!
“After years of daily exercise, the most important lesson I've learned is to focus on what my body can do rather than what it cannot. No matter how much I work out, my body will never be perfect.”
Focusing on the things about your body you DO love is important! It also helps remembering that some physical features are purely genetics. If everyone ate the same food and worked out the same amount, everyone would STILL have different body shapes, because all people have different builds!
The “ideal” body shape is ALWAYS changing.
So no matter how hard you work to fit that cookie cutter image, the image itself is always going to be changing. It’s also SUPER subjective. Not everyone is attracted to the same body type, so don’t put yourself in that box. It doesn’t matter what body shape is “trendy,” because your health is not a trend. Body ideals, like everything else in pop culture, are a trend. So love what your mama gave you;) And one thing that never changes/goes out of style: confidence. Because who cares what others think! Take care of your body, & give it the love that it deserves:)
